MARX OF SUCCESS FUNDRAISER FOR THE SALVATION ARMY & MCKEMIE PLACE Join Season of Life author, Jeffrey Marx as he teaches the value of healthy relationships, communities and leaders through his experiences working with the Baltimore Colts. His mentor, NFL star Joe Ehrmann, taught him important lessons about what it means to be a truly successful man or woman and lead a life of service. Mal Moore, Athletic Director of the University of Alabama, will introduce this inspiring speaker. Help The Sal...vation Army’s Center for Women and Children and McKemie Place, the only overnight shelter for homeless single women in the region, welcome this Pulitzer Prize winning author, as he speaks on “This Thing We Call Success.” His talk will inspire anyone that is involved in our youth’s lives including everyone from business leaders and board members to teachers and youth leaders. Sports memorabilia from greats like John Wooden and Carl Lewis will be auctioned. Packages are available for groups to encourage personal and team growth.

TURTLE DERBY ON THE DELTA The Turtle Derby on the Delta is a rubber turtle race and family fun day. Participants will “adopt” a rubber turtle for a suggested donation of $5 each to enter in the race. The rubber turtles will be released into Sardine Pass where they will race in hopes of winning their adopter a fabulous prize. The event will also include fun activities for the whole family to enjoy while exploring their local delta. Proceeds from the event will benefit Covenant Hospice patient and family services in Mobile County. BAY AREA FOOD BANK'S 12TH ANNUAL CHEF CHALLENGE As a way to bring our community together to focus on hunger awareness during Hunger Action Month, the Bay Area Food Bank coordinates hunger related events throughout the month of September, culminating with the 12th Annual Chef Challenge, “A Challenge to End Hunger”.
Thanks to the generosity of our Epicurean Sponsor, The Wind Creek Casino and Hotel, this year’s event will begin with hors d’ouvres and cocktails followed by an exquisite three course meal prepared by Wind Creek’s corporate executive chef, Chef Stafford Decambra, and executive chef, Chef Louis Chatham. The event will also feature live music and a silent auction.
Individual tickets are $100 each and table reservations(8 seats per table) are $750.Please make reservations no later than Monday, September 13.

GOODWILL EASTER SEALS WALK WITH ME Come walk 1.5 miles, or run a 5k, with three Goodwill Easter Seals' ambassadors: Kelly, Madalyn and Jessica, as we raise awareness and funds for people with disabilities! This year's event will be held at Hank Aaron Stadium showcasing other Mobile vendors and organizations working together to help others! Goodwill Easter Seals serves Mobile to empower people through encouragement, education and employment.
