Hires Vice President of Marketing & Communications
Mobile, AL, February 2 - The Mobile Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau announced today that they have hired Stacy Hamilton as Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Leon Maisel, President/CEO of the Mobile Bay CVB stated, “I am very pleased to announce Stacy as our new Vice President of Marketing and Communications. I am confident that her experience, talent, leadership and education will make her an asset to our Mobile Bay CVB team.”
A native of Baton Rouge, Stacy Hamilton began her career in hospitality and destination marketing in 1988 as the marketing and public relations manager for the travel trade organization, Louisiana Travel Promotion Association (LTPA). In that capacity, she assisted over 1000 members - hotels, attractions, restaurants, museums, tour operators, convention centers and CVB's - with a variety of cooperative marketing opportunities. She was also the editor of the official Louisiana Tour Guide for three years during her years at LTPA. In 1991, she was hired as the Director of Marketing at Oak Alley Plantation, Restaurant and Inn (located on the Mississippi River between Baton Rouge and New Orleans). At the time, Oak Alley, a National Historic Landmark, was one of the most visited attractions in the state of Louisiana. In her eight years at Oak Alley she led all the marketing, public relations, media and event initiatives.
In the fall of 1999, Hamilton moved to the Destin/South Walton area of Florida, working in a boutique advertising agency which serviced several resort and real estate clients in the South Walton area including the holiday towns of Seaside, WaterColor and Rosemary Beach. In 2003, she joined The St. Joe Company, Florida's largest private land owner and one of the most successful resort and real estate developers in the business. She originally oversaw the marketing for their newest property, the AAA four diamond-rated WaterColor Inn and Resort and eventually assumed responsibility for the marketing efforts of seven resort and second home communities, several golf courses, various retail centers, marinas and other JOE-owned assets over a four county region.
Hamilton stated that she is “thrilled” to be joining the Mobile Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau as Vice President of Marketing & Communications. "Beautiful Mobile Bay has always held a special place in my heart and I am excited to have the opportunity to represent an area steeped in such tradition, adventure, history, beauty, culture and true Southern hospitality", says Hamilton. "The team in place at the CVB has an excellent reputation and it is a true honor to be working with such professionals in this new venture."
