Getting Around Mobile, AL

Mobile Bay is a very pedestrian friendly place to visit. Historic homes, multiple museums, beautiful foliage, hidden parks and public squares can all be discovered on foot. There is a great selection of things to do and places to eat within short walking distance from many accommodations. Public transportation:

  • Greyhound Bus Service - The bus terminal is located at 2545 Government Blvd. For more information, call (800) 231-2222.
  • The WAVE Transit System is our public transit system that travels throughout Mobile County.
  • The Mobile Bay Ferry which transports both vehicles and passengers between Dauphin Island and Gulf Shores.
  • Mobile Bay's moda! electric trolleys are your connection for FREE downtown transportation. Trolleys run every 10 minutes on a convenient three-mile route... just look for the green umbrellas at every stop! Moda maps are available at the Fort Condé Welcome Center which is also the first daily stop. Mon.-Fri. 7a.m. - 6p.m., Sat. 9a.m.-5p.m. For more information, call (251) 344-6600.
  • Taxi Service - Safe, clean and dependable taxi and shuttle services are available 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week in the Mobile Bay area. Yellow Cab is the largest provider of taxi and shuttle services in the Mobile area. Please call (251) 476-7711 at any time to schedule a taxi for your transportation needs.
