For most of the summer, three questions have preoccupied dining denizens of downtown Mobile:
- Why did Panini Pete’s close when it seemed to be doing fine?
- What is this “Squid Ink” thing going to be?
- Does “gastropub” mean the new place is going to be too snooty to enjoy?
The answers are now being served, with gleeful enthusiasm, at 102 Dauphin Street. In Squid Ink Eclectic Eat & Drinks, Pete Blohme and co-owners Nick DiMario and Robert Kabakoff seem to have engineered a joint where the only rules are that the experience has to be fun and efficient for them and for the customer.
