Grab your lunches and join us for Learning Lunch featuring Architectural Historian and retired University of South Alabama Professor, Dr. Philippe Oszuscik. He will deliver his presentation: Mobile Architecture Before and After 1813.

He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa and has taught at universities in Louisiana, Illinois, and Alabama. He retired from the University of South Alabama in 2011. His writing interests include American and West Indies architecture and art, especially folk and vernacular housing along the Gulf Coast. Dr. Oszuscik has published essays in books, written articles, and authored Louisiana's Gothic Revival, 1973. His most recent book, Changing Creole Housing 1699-1899: Beginnings, Changes and Its Endurance, is due to appear in print in the spring of 2020. At Learning Lunch, he will share his knowledge of Mobile’s architecture before the city left the colonial era, and after it joined the United States in 1813.
