Mobile Ballet Presents Giselle

Considered the first classical ballet when performed in 1841, this masterwork of  the Romantic era still captivates audiences with a story of mad love that turns to madness... and ultimately forgiveness.

Giselle is a peasant girl who dies of a broken heart on discovery her lover Albrecht is betrothed to another.  Transformed to a “wili” - the ghostly spirits of  girls jilted before their wedding day - Giselle haunts the forest and inevitably saves her true love’s life.

Artistic Director Katia Garza will dance the role of Giselle in the veteran performer's final full length principal role.   Also appearing: Ballet Master Israel Rodriguez and Guest Artists Paul Branco and Raul Peinado.  Considered the Hamlet of theatrical ballet, “Giselle” is a powerful production not to be missed.
