  • First Free Sunday | November 3

    Visit the History Museum of Mobile and Colonial Fort Conde any time from 1 - 5 p.m. and enjoy free admission. Learn and interact with our nearly 325 years of rich history along with the featured exhibit: SAMURAI: Sunrise, Sunset, which draws from the detailed and varied Japanese collection of the Stibbert Museum, located in Florence, Italy. 

    Beethoven & Blue Jeans | November 9

    This year’s casual Mobile Symphony concert offers triple the fun! Beethoven’s Triple Concerto features violinist Benjamin Baker, cellist James Baik and pianist Chaeyoung Park. Also Haydn’s “Surprise” Symphony and Montgomery’s Starburst.  

    USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park Veterans Day Celebration | November 11

    With the Parade of Flags and Veterans Day Concert, the USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park is the quintessential backdrop to honor and express our gratitude to the heroes among us. The concert will feature traditional patriotic music, military marches and contemporary favorites by the Mobile Pops. 

    Bourbon by the Bay | November 17

    The 7th annual Bourbon on the Bay promises a wide variety premium bourbons and whiskeys. The event will also feature heavy hors d'oeuvres, craft cocktails featuring local mixologists, a selection of wine and local brews, a unique silent auction and festive live music.

    Mobile International Festival | November 23

    Since 1983, the Mobile International Festival has provided the atmosphere of world travel, giving the opportunity to meet people from over 70 countries face-to-face, speak different languages and sample delicious food. You will not only learn geography, history, art, social studies, music and science, but you will also be inspired by our beautiful world and its people. 

     
  • Clotilda: The Exhibition at Africatown Heritage House

    Clotilda: The Exhibition covers the story of the Clotilda with a special focus on the people of the story – their individuality, their perseverance and the extraordinary community they established. The exhibition tells the story of the 110 remarkable men, women and children, from their West African beginnings, to their enslavement, to their settlement of Africatown and finally, the discovery of the sunken schooner, all through a combination of interpretive text panels, documents and artifacts. 

    Mobile Carnival Museum

    You won't find one just like it, because Mobile is the true birthplace of Mardi Gras. The Carnival Museum features 14 galleries, video presentations, a pictorial hallway and an interactive float area - all in a restored historic mansion. A visit to Mobile isn't complete until you've toured this magical museum. See the royal regalia, including fur-lined trains, one-of-a-kind crowns and handcrafted invitations from the past all the way to what the "Boom Boom" in Mobile looks like today. 

    1960s Hard Edge and Op Art Tribute to The Responsive Eye

    Mobile Museum of Art is hosting a blockbuster exhibition of paintings and sculpture in tribute to a cutting-edge exhibition called The Responsive Eye. In early 1965, shortly after MMofA first opened its doors, this exhibition created a sensation as visitors flocked to the Museum of Modern Art (New York City) and media outlets buzzed about the phenomenon. See for yourself what made these eye-dazzling artworks compelling, confounding and sensational 60 years ago!

    Archaeology Museum at the University of South Alabama

    The Archaeology Museum showcases 12,000 years of prehistory and history in southern Alabama and the Gulf Coast. Dig into the past, take in what lies below an archaeological investigation and glimpse into the ways of life of Native American Archaic and Woodland cultures, mound-building Mississippian peoples, early French settlers and an African-American family after the Civil War.

    Oakleigh Garden Historic District 

    Known for its rich history and well-preserved architecture, the Oakleigh Garden Historic District (known locally as OGD) is a picturesque neighborhood near downtown. Established in the early 19th century, one of the notable features of OGD is its collection of historic homes. These homes showcase various architectural styles and influences on Mobile’s culture, including Greek Revival, Italianate and Victorian. Walking through the district feels like stepping back in time, with tree-lined streets and lush gardens.

    Ready to eat the best food in Mobile? A Bienville Bites Food Tour is an adventure like no other. Walk through the shady oaks of Mobile to locally owned, iconic restaurants for a memorable and delicious experience you will never forget. You'll learn some history along the way! This team of expert Mobilians knows all the great places to eat, shop, stay and have fun while in Mobile.

    National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico

    The Maritime Museum is an interactive museum dedicated to the Gulf of Mexico's rich maritime history, culture and economic significance. The 90,000-square-foot museum is shaped like a ship headed into Mobile Bay. Adults and children will get lost in the state-of-the-art interactive exhibits, simulators, theaters and unique displays on marine archeology, shipwrecks, hurricanes and so much more.

    Muffinjaw Designs

    Muffinjaw Designs is Mobile's first and only publicly accessible glassblowing studio. They create glassware for the home and garden and specialize in hands-on glassblowing experiences and educational programs. Whether you're shopping for a unique gift, wanting to learn something new or throwing a one-of-a-kind party for your friends, this cool space with a funny name is definitely the hottest place in town.

  • Callaghan's Irish Social Club

    Since 1946, Callaghan’s Irish Social Club has served as a local watering hole and grill. Located in the picturesque Oakleigh Garden District, Callaghan’s is affectionately known as Oakleigh Town Hall. The Mobile staple has received numerous accolades, including being voted The Best Bar in America by Esquire Magazine, The South’s Best Bar by Southern Living Magazine, The South’s Best Bar by Garden & Gun Magazine and Best Burger in Alabama by USA Today. They proudly host the Gulf Coast’s largest St. Patrick’s Day celebration and you can find live music most nights. 

    Dauphin's

    Really the only way to find elevation in Mobile is at Dauphin's Casual Fine Dining. Located high atop downtown Mobile on the 34th floor of the RSA Trustmark Bank Building - Dauphin’s truly is Southern hospitality, elevated. Enjoy breathtaking views of Mobile Bay while savoring Executive Chef Steve Zucker’s menu full of classic coastal cuisine with a hint of Caribbean. The restaurant’s name is a tribute to the region's storied French history and a nod to owner Bob Baumhower’s former NFL team, the Miami Dolphins.

    Wintzell's Oyster House

    Wintzell's is designated by national and regional publications as a dining landmark. Lively, casual and unmistakably Southern, they serve oysters shucked fresh from their oyster bar, as they say, "fried, stewed and nude." Founded in 1938, it began as a six-stool oyster bar in the location where it currently operates on Dauphin Street, in the heart of the entertainment district. 

    LoDa Bier Garten

    Mobile's authentic German bar, LoDa Bier Garten gets its name from LoDa, or Lower Dauphin, Mobile's downtown entertainment district. Boasting "the largest draft beer selection in the Southeast," they offer 102 beers on tap and over 100 bottled beer selections. A LoDa hamburger with made fresh with meat from a local market and the deep fried pickled cauliflower (you read that right!) will be something to tell your friends about.
