Bellingrath Gardens and Home

Step back in time on a guided tour of the historic Bellingrath Home! Walter and Bessie Bellingrath's beautiful estate Home, which faces east on scenic Fowl River in south Mobile County, features the Bellingraths' original antique furnishings and extensive collections of art, silver, china and crystal. Home tours are held on the hour each day, and the Home is located at the center of Bellingrath Gardens, about a 20-minute walk from the entrance. During the tour, guests will learn about the history of the Gardens and Home and their remarkable founders. Built in 1935-36, the 10,500-square-foot Home was designed by prominent architect George B. Rogers in a unique style that he dubbed "English Renaissance." Guests are welcome to take photos during the Home Tour, and our well-versed tour guides are always happy to answer questions.
