POSITION:

Senior Sales Manager

Vice President of Sales 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Visit Mobile is seeking an energetic and creative person to join our team as a Senior Sales Manager focusing on Multi-Cultural and Fraternal accounts. This position will be supported by the Vice President of Sales and working as a member of the convention and group sales team. The Account Executive is responsible for aggressively researching and qualifying potential customers that bring group business to the convention center and hotels in Mobile, Alabama, specifically working religious, multi-cultural and fraternal markets.  The Account Executive will actively contact potential customers through telemarketing, emailing, trade events, sales trips, appointments, newsletters and direct contact. The account executive will establish a client base from organizations, associations and corporate businesses, for the purpose of securing business for Mobile to ensure the predetermined sales expectations are met or exceeded.

The account executive will need to respond quickly to potential client requests, consistently following up to ensure guest satisfaction is met.  The Account Executive will have the responsibility in the Multi-Cultural, Religious and Fraternal Markets. This person will conduct tours of the hotels, convention facilities and attractions while entertaining qualified potential clients.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree preferred and a minimum 5+ years of related professional experience required. Prior experience in hospitality or a sales organization, ideally in the travel and tourism industry, a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Directly responsible for making effective sales calls combining telemarketing calls, scheduled appointments, site tours, follow—up and maintenance calls
  • Meet and develop a relationship with all clients including key decision makers, influencers, bookers and group/meeting contacts.
  • Initiate and maintain a direct and aggressive sales effort to meet budgeted goals
  • Conducts electronic and face-to fact sales experiences
  • Utilize your relationship with hotel counterparts to identify market trends and opportunity dates.
  • Understand and be able to execute full account qualification, penetration and saturation process
  • Thrives on being a member of a fast-paced team
  • Excels in written, oral and presentation skills
  • Must be able to handle administration responsibilities including working with group and meeting planners, group entry utilizing computer sills to be able to perform database entry and submit weekly reports
  • Maintain active involvement in county/city volunteering for special events/committees to develop and maintain a positive and professional reputation in the community
  • Experience in hospitality or meeting related industries
  • Experience with CRM data management a plus
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule
  • Independent local and national travel is involved
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Proven sales and negotiation abilities

POSITION:

Sales & Destination Services Coordinator

SUPPORTED BY:

Vice President of Sales and the Director of Leisure Sales & Events

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the VP of Sales and Director of Leisure Sales & Events. This role will assist the managers of both Convention and Leisure Sales departments with planning, organizing and coordination of all conventions and meetings. Key responsibilities will include interacting with clients and members on an as need basis, database management, communicating creative and sales asset needs, along with tracking and assuring delivery to events; ensure brand standards are maintained at all events Visit Mobile is involved; handling related billing and expense processing. Sharp project management, strong communication, planning, multi-tasking, flexibility and a positive attitude are key to the success of the position. Experience in the Travel & Tourism, Sales, Hospitality or related industries are preferred and most helpful in this role.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Orchestrate the planning, organizing and coordination of all details pertaining to citywide conventions, meetings, trade shows, familiarization trips, site inspections and special events
  • Works closely with sales department to ensure that all services and amenities are delivered per negotiated agreements
  •  Handles all billing related services, database management, Visit Mobile’s CRM input and various database platforms management
  • Conducts research as directed to support sales efforts
  • Prepares and manages a variety of reports, calendars and updates departments accordingly
  • Coordinates with departments on the requirements/needs for all conventions, meetings, communications, trade shows and related events to maintain brand standards
  • Serves as an extension of the sales team during all interactions with clients and members
  • Perform other duties as requested by departmental management

 

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Undertakes special projects as requested by the VP of Sales and Director of Leisure Sales & Events
  • Addresses all administrative duties as they apply to pre and post-convention and event support for clients
  • Prepares and manages deliveries of amenities, brand assets and travels locally as needed

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree preferred and a minimum 1-3+ years' related professional experience required. Prior experience in hospitality or a sales organization, ideally in the travel and tourism industry, a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Working knowledge of processing invoices, payments and contracts• Researching, organizing & coordinating group/meeting/event specific requirements
  •  Flexible to the changing demands and workload of the department
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRM, social media applications and data management required
  • Excellent time management, verbal, written, intrapersonal communication, and problem identification  skills
  • Team player, motivated, dependable and great attitude required
  • Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively across various departments
  • Ability to work in a changing environment and awareness to jump in when needed
