Symphony
The Mobile Symphony, one of the nation’s top regional orchestras, offers a full season of world-class performances in Mobile’s historic Saenger Theatre. These inspiring concerts feature a vast variety of musical styles ranging from beloved classical masterpieces to exciting modern works – from sweeping movie soundtracks to toe-tapping jazz and pop standards. The talented ensemble is frequently joined by legendary soloists including recent guests Renée Fleming, Yo-Yo Ma and Joshua Bell.
Not sure you like classical music? Don’t worry. Our conductor literally wrote the book on making even the most novice concertgoer feel at home. Scott Speck, music director of the MSO, is the author of the popular Classical Music for Dummies, now out in a new edition. For more than 20 years, the MSO has been building a devoted fan base of music lovers who cheer the orchestra’s success with the same fervor as our state’s legendary football fans. Not only are MSO concerts relaxed and accessible, but they’re also affordable. Regular ticket prices start at just $15. Student prices are $10, and parents can bring their children to Sunday matinee performances for free when accompanied by a paying adult with the Big Red Ticket program.
Simply put, you’ll never find a better opportunity to discover the world of great music at a great price in one of the South’s most beautiful concert halls.
