DAY ONE | Thursday, July 3 - Arrive and Explore Downtown

Afternoon

Kick off your So Mobile 4th of July experience by checking into one of our hotels. Whether you’re seeking luxury, comfort or a unique boutique experience, our hotels aim to please. 

After you drop off your bags, stop at the History Museum of Mobile and Colonial Fort Conde. Soak in centuries of history, culture and immersion into the origins of our beloved city. Learn about Mobile's legacy and beginnings as one of the oldest cities on the Gulf Coast.   

Evening

Did someone say dinner?! Mobile is packed with various restaurants that offer delicious meals that define our city’s iconic food scene. If you’re looking for dishes that are quintessentially Mobile, check out Wintzell’s Oyster House, Callaghan’s Irish Social Club and Dew Drop Inn.

If you still have room, hop on over to one of our four breweries or a dessert shop like Cammie’s Old Dutch Ice Cream Shoppe, Buzzed Bull Creamery or Mo’Bay Beignet.


DAY TWO | Friday, July 4 - It's a party in the USA!

Morning

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Indulge in a tasty meal at one of Mobile’s breakfast restaurants. 

Wander through our historic streets! Explore our historic districts and see some of the most popular spots in town. Bienville Square, Cathedral Square, Spanish Plaza and other picturesque spots are perfect for snapping a quick pic before you start your journey through the Port City. 

Afternoon

While you’re out and about, check out our beautiful downtown art scene. Our Mobile Mural Trail outlines all of the art that adorns the walls of our downtown buildings. 

Before heading to USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park, enjoy light bites and appetizers at one of the restaurants nearby. 

Evening

Grab your lawn chairs and coolers! It’s time to head to USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park! Once you arrive, set your items down and explore the grounds. Learn about the legacies of the USS ALABAMA, USS DRUM and the various WWII-era aircraft that are anchored at Battleship Memorial Park.

6 p.m. is the official kick-off time for the City of Mobile’s 4th of July Celebration. Enjoy live performances from Tip Tops and Fly By Radio, caricature drawings, food trucks, dancing and more! The best fireworks show on the Gulf Coast (if we do say so ourselves) will begin promptly at 9 p.m. We hope you dance the night away under the stars at one of the most historic places in town!


DAY THREE | Saturday, July 5 - Saturdays are for exploring the Port City

Morning

Recap your favorite 4th of July memories over coffee and pastries at one of our coffee shops.

We can’t talk about independence and resilience in Mobile without talking about the historic Africatown neighborhood. Visit Africatown Heritage House to learn about the ongoing legacy and impact of the Clotilda, the last known slave ship to enter the US.

Afternoon

Your experience in Mobile isn’t complete without embarking on a Bienville Bites Food Tour. Learn about the history of downtown Mobile while tasting some of the city’s most enchanting eats.

After your tour, head to the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf to learn all about the history and impact of the Gulf Coast region. 

Evening

Start your evening explorations with an Airboat Express excursion. Fall in love with wildlife, plants and untamed waves of the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta.

The Mobile Causeway is home to some of the city’s most delicious eats. Felix’s Fish Camp, BLUEGILL Restaurant, Original Oyster House and Ralph and Kacoo's are all must-eats.
