DAY ONE

Take a walk downtown and explore spectacular fountains, spacious parks and riverside wonders.

SAVOR THE FLAVOR

Have a shuckin’ good time sitting at Wintzell’s Oyster House watching fresh Gulf oysters being shucked, pull up a seat at Moe’s Original BBQ for finger-licking good food or check out a variety of other delicious options.

DAY TWO

FUEL UP TO START YOUR DAY

Powdered sugar dollops of heaven or perhaps omelets, bacon and grits?  Trust us, you’re going to need to fuel up before you take off exploring all that the city has to offer.

LIVE FOR THE DAY

Experience Mobile’s amazing museums and hands-on learning centers such as the Exploreum Science Center that offers numerous interactive exhibits, thought-provoking larger-than-life Giant Screen films and fun hands-on educational programming. Located on the banks of the Mobile River, the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico has more than 80 interactive exhibits and simulators to teach you all about the Port of Mobile. Full steam ahead to the USS ALABAMA, a retired U.S. Navy battleship, and a must-visit for your family. Explore the “Mighty A” from the bow to the stern to learn about life on board this American warship.

BOAT TO TABLE

Enjoy a casual, delicious lunch overlooking Mobile Bay at places like Bluegill,  Felix’s Fish Camp or many other fresh favorites in Mobile.

GET OUTSIDE

More of an outdoor family? No problem! Explore the natural wonders of Mobile by land or by sea. Grab the kayak and explore the second largest river delta in the country, the Mobile-Tensaw River Delta. Kids will love the fast-paced thrill of an airboat ride or a stroll along the river on a pontoon boat. Take advantage of the incredible education experience at 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center, where Mobile, Spanish, Tensaw, Apalachee and Blakeley rivers flow into Mobile Bay

Grab your bathing suits and head just 45 minutes down the road to the Sunset Capital of Alabama, Dauphin Island. Enjoy an afternoon of lounging while the kids splash away in the waves and build giant castles in the sand. Take a break from the sun at the Alabama Aquarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab that introduces the beauty and wonders of the Mobile Estuary. The Audubon Bird Sanctuary is one of the top birding locations in the nation with more than 164 acres of maritime forest to explore
