Step one: Drop your bags and get ready to explore! Choosing one of downtown Mobile's hotels guarantees quick access to the train station as well as countless attractions and eateries.

It's time to eat! No matter where you go in downtown Mobile, you're bound to leave full and ready to rave about how delicious the food was. Whether you're in the mood for tacos, burgers, Asian cuisine or traditional southern dishes, Mobile's eateries aim to please.
2:30 p.m.
Stroll along Dauphin Street, Mobile’s bustling downtown strip, filled with boutiques, historic architecture, coffee shops and colorful murals, sculptures and utility boxes. Pop into Do Goods Mercantile or Urban Emporium for unique gifts, or grab a craft cocktail at The Haberdasher, POST or Penton’s Bistro & The King Bleu Corner Bar.
5:00 p.m.
Take a walking food tour through downtown Mobile with Bienville Bites Food Tours, where storytelling meets Mobile's most unique plates. For nearly 2.5 hours, you’ll learn about the city’s multicultural roots, which include French, Spanish, Creole and African American influences. It's the perfect way to get your bearings and your fill.

End your first night with a little mystery. Mobile is one of the oldest cities on the Gulf Coast, and it has haunted legends and folklore to prove it. Local guides from Secret History Tours or Bay City Conventions & Tours will lead you through dark alleys and historic sites while sharing spooky tales of pirates, restless spirits, and Mobile’s most haunted homes.

DAY TWO | A Deeper Dive into Mobile
8:30 a.m.
In the mood for breakfast? The Ruby Slipper Cafe, Bob's Downtown Restaurant, The Breakfast Spot and Parc Le Tralor are top-tier choices. If you don't mind the humidity, outdoor seating offers prime people-watching and shaded Southern charm.

Step into our city's maritime roots at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf. This interactive museum is perfect for your weekend stay. Explore exhibits on hurricanes, shipping, navigation and Mobile’s role in maritime history. The views of the Mobile River are stunning and the rooftop deck is the perfect place to snap a pic.
Noon
Next stop: Africatown Heritage House! This powerful exhibit narrates the story of the Clotilda, the last known slave ship to arrive in the U.S., and the resilient community founded by its survivors. Through immersive exhibits and personal narratives, the Africatown Heritage House honors the spirit, legacy and strength of the descendants who still call Africatown home.
1:45 p.m.
All of that learning will work up an appetite! Venture to the Mobile Causeway for lunch. Original Oyster House, BLUEGILL Restaurant and other seafood-filled menus await!
3:00 p.m.
Climb aboard one of the most iconic warships of WWII, the USS ALABAMA, and explore its massive decks, tight passageways and onboard museum. Don’t miss the USS DRUM submarine, warplanes, and tanks on display. It's an unforgettable, hands-on history lesson for all ages, located right on the bay in Battleship Memorial Park.
5:00 p.m.
Take a break before heading into your final full night in the city.
7:00 p.m.
Dine in style on the 34th floor of the Trustmark Building. With sweeping views of the bay, Dauphin's combines fine dining with a relaxed Southern feel. Chef-prepared dishes and a locally inspired cocktail menu make this a great spot to toast your trip. If you still have room, go to the building's basement and indulge in a cocktail and dessert at Las Floriditas. Note: Both restaurants follow a strict dress code. Review here.

DAY THREE | A Coastal Farewell

Get some sweets before you go! End your trip on a sweet note with a visit to Mo'Bay Beignet, A&M Peanut Shoppe or Three Georges Candy.
1:00 p.m.
Step back in time at two must-visit museums. At the History Museum of Mobile, dive into exhibits on Mardi Gras, Mobile’s colonial history and regional culture. After that journey is complete, walk over to Colonial Fort Conde, a reconstruction of the original 1700s French fort, complete with cannons and cobblestone streets. It’s interactive, family-friendly and full of great photo ops.
