The Mobile, AL staple is listed at #1 as the best in country for cooking up flourless desserts and baked goods that are just as indulgent as their traditional counterparts.
Guncles is a locally-owned, highly adored bakery whose inception came from “a cupcake that did not lead to happiness.” John Edward McGee and Demetrius James, owners and bakers, are proud to say the shop is visited almost daily by customers who drive from cities outside Mobile for their creations. Known for making customers triple-check the ingredients to be certain they are gluten-free (they are!), many local restaurants, wine stores and hotels offer their goods to customers.
Guncles features sweet and savory treats which are created in a dedicated gluten-free kitchen using organic and locally sourced ingredients, when available. They operate one brick and mortar bakery in Mobile and, thankfully, ship nationwide.
