Mardi Gras is a time of celebration! From balls and parties, to costumes, admiring the floats, and catching throws, it’s a time that captures all of your senses. We spend our days trying to catch the best of the day; and, for many of us, we can’t wait to catch a Moon Pie. Nothing says Mobile like a Moon Pie.

But this year, we challenge you to take it up a notch! With Mardi Gras love, local flavors, and a heap of Moon Pies from each day’s catch, turn them into the ultimate Mobile treat - a Moon Pie ice cream sandwich with Cammie’s Old Dutch Ice Cream Shoppe’s Banana Pudding ice cream. Soft cookie, marshmallow, vanilla ice cream, Nilla Wafers, and banana - what’s not to love?

The Ingredients:

  • 1 box of chocolate Moon Pies

  • 1 pint Cammie’s Old Dutch Ice Cream Shoppe banana pudding ice cream

The Steps:

  1. Remove all Moon Pies from their individual packaging.

  2. Carefully, peel the Moon Pies a part into two halves. One side will have the marshmallow remaining. TIP: Use a butter knife to gently separate if needed

  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place in the freezer.

  4. One at a time, top one side of the Moon Pie with 1 scoop of ice cream. About 1-2 tbsp. Cover with the other half, gently press, and immediately place on the lined baking sheet in the freezer.

  5. Repeat until all ice cream sandwiches are complete. Freeze for at least 30-minutes before enjoying.
