Fun fact: As one of Mobile’s oldest streets, the name is a nod to our French roots. “Dauphin” (pronounced “Daw-fin”) is the title given to heirs of the French throne.

Whether you're a foodie, an outdoor enthusiast or a lover of the arts, LoDa has something to offer everyone. The district is extremely walkable and serves as the perfect backdrop for walking and riding an e-scooter in between your destinations. During the second Friday of every month, the part of LoDa gets blocked off and local businesses and artists take over the area in honor of Artwalk. Each month has a different theme so be prepared to flaunt your boldest and most colorful designs. Art lovers can explore Sophiella Gallery and the Mobile Arts Council's Gallery @ Room 1927, both of which showcase the work of talented regional artists.
Additionally, the district is home to some of the city’s most stellar shopping options, Urban Emporium, Do Goods Mercantiles and Bienville Souvenirs & Gifts. The fun doesn't stop there! Hayley's, Mobile's oldest bar, and B-Bob's Downtown and Gabriel's are all renowned nightlife options. Every year, the Dauphin Street Beer Fest never fails to bring Oktoberfest to the Gulf Coast. This year's festival will feature over 50 bars from 14 bars and restaurants downtown from 6-9 pm on Saturday, October 5.
