It’s football season!

Sure, you could watch all the games at home. But cooking your own food, doing your own dishes and yelling at your TV alone sounds like you just fumbled your fun. Thankfully, Mobile offers a variety of sports bars that put your living room to shame. From homey holes-in-the-wall to upscale sports lounges, here’s our roundup of where to watch football in Mobile this fall.

HEROES SPORTS BAR AND GRILL

Heroes is one of the best places to watch football in Mobile. An array of big-screen TVs line the walls of both of Heroes’ locations, and as one (okay, two) of the handful of bars with NFL Sunday Ticket, you can catch every. Single. Game.

Heroes’ two locations, one in the heart of downtown and another across the street from the University of South Alabama, boast ample outdoor seating and 16 and 24 TVs, respectively. Both spots are total touchdowns, with over 50 beers from around the world. Do your mouth a favor and try the Clipper, a smoked turkey breast with bacon topped with mushrooms, Monterey Jack, and secret sauce on grilled sourdough bread.

THE OUTSIDER SPORTS LOUNGE

Elevate your game at The Outsider Sports Lounge. This trendy, industrial-chic establishment is a blowout victory for sports fans and socialites alike. Watch your favorite team on one of many TVs throughout the bar, and pair delicious bar bites with a craft beer or a bespoke signature cocktail, such as the Cleat Chaser or The Beast! The Outsider also offers outside seating; no pun intended.

DAVE & BUSTER’S

Imagine a world where parents and kids alike can enjoy themselves during a big game. Sounds pretty heavenly, right? Now, put your imagination away and head to Dave & Buster’s. This iconic, family-friendly chain has provided exhilarating entertainment for over 40 years, and Mobile’s location is no exception.

You and your kiddos will find hundreds of games, the biggest of big screens (with every single pro and college game), delectable drinks and a fabulous food menu. Game day specials include 10 wings for $10, $5 drafts, margaritas and more. Dave & Buster’s even offers rentable game suites, complete with 40-foot screens and a VIP experience, for a big game watch party to remember.

MOE’S ORIGINAL BBQ (DOWNTOWN)

Moe’s Original BBQ is a sublime spot to catch the game while devouring copious amounts of barbecue, soulful sides and ice-cold brews. Voted one of the 10 best BBQ joints in the country by USA Today, this fun, fast-casual restaurant also boasts a mega screen for big SEC game days. Pro tip: call an audible and try the white BBQ sauce on literally everything.

LODA BIER GARTEN

With 102 beers on tap and authentic German fare, including brats, pretzels and burgers, LoDa is a great option for your game day! Its walls are lined with giant TVs, and the atmosphere is vibrant. Snacky? You’ll want one (or two!) orders of mind-bendingly tasty Deep Fried Pickled Cauliflower to share with the table. Prost!

BUTCH CASSIDY’S CAFÉ

Looking for a smaller, mellower spot to watch the game? Head to Butch Cassidy’s. Known for a down-home feel and speedy, sociable service, this Mobile institution offers an abundance of TVs at the bar to catch all the action. Butch Cassidy’s reasonable prices and memorable menu (including the burly Butch Burger) will satisfy your every craving.

NIXON’S MIDTOWN

Step inside Nixon’s, and you’ll encounter a throwback to the 1920s-era Nixon’s Drugs store that operated in the building for 80 years. It’s the perfect vintage backdrop for your team’s next performance. There are plenty of TVs, allowing you to catch multiple games at once. At halftime, you can pick up a game of pool or shuffleboard. Choose from 21 draft beers and eight draft wines. And munch on the Veggie Quesadilla and the T.B.S. (Turkey, Bacon & Swiss).

O’DALY’S IRISH PUB

O’Daly’s, the “pub that started it all,” occupies a prime location on Dauphin St. and is one of the best sports bars in Mobile. Swift service. Strong drinks. Games on every TV. $4 Irish Car Bombs. Pub grub ranging from Fried Pickles to Bacon Queso Fries. What more could a football fanatic ask for? Even if you watch your favorite team lose here, O’Daly's Chicken and Waffle Pizza is the consummate comfort food.

BAUMHOWER’S VICTORY GRILLE

Owned by NFL legend Bob Baumhower, this stellar sports bar was built with the game in mind. Get off the bench and into the game with gridiron grub, a surplus of seats and 75 HDTVs with NFL Sunday Ticket. From traditional to “hot lips,” Baumhower’s gives you custom control over the heat of your wings, and offers 13 different dipping sauces. From the Tailgate Burger to the char-grilled Black + White Chicken, every menu item is a pick-six. In addition, Baumhower’s boasts a Sunday Blitz from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Sunday, featuring $2.99 domestic pints, $3.99 well drinks, and more!

TOPGOLF

Game day meets game play at Topgolf. With a massive screen in the lobby, TVs by the golf bays and plenty more scattered across the outdoor areas, you won’t miss a second of the action. Pair the views with classic snacks, sharable apps, hearty entrees and ice-cold drinks that keep the football spirit going long after the final whistle. Whether you’re swinging clubs or just watching the game, Topgolf delivers a winning atmosphere.

No matter the vibe or the victuals, Mobile has a sports bar or watch party spot that suits your football fancy. Of course, game days don’t disappear when football season ends. Every place on this list is perfect for viewing basketball, baseball, tennis or any other sport throughout the year. Here in Mobile, your new favorite game day hangout awaits.
