On March 1, 2024, the Mobile Airport Authority (MAA) announced that United Airlines will be offering nonstop service from Mobile Regional Airport (MOB) to Washington, D.C. beginning June 27. This new route will provide travelers in the Gulf Coast region with convenient access to the nation’s capital, enhancing business and leisure travel opportunities.
Passengers flying from MOB will enjoy twice-daily, nonstop flights to Dulles International Airport (IAD), a major hub serving the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
“Once again, our organization has been given the privilege of partnering with the Mobile Airport Authority, the City of Mobile, the Mobile Chamber of Commerce, United Airlines and others to advance Mobile and continue to develop and promote air service opportunities,” said David Clark, CEO of Visit Mobile. "Congratulations to the MAA on adding this transformative direct flight - the connection opportunities are endless!"
The announcement comes just over one month since MAA publicized that Breeze Airways will begin nonstop service from Mobile to Orlando, and also one stop/no plane change "BreezeThru" service to Providence, RI, both starting April 10 from Mobile International Airport.
