The Steel Across America tour stop in Mobile, AL commemorates the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park is among more than 35 stops on a historic coast-to-coast tour honoring the heroes of the September 11, 2001, attacks on the U.S., Tunnel to Towers Foundation announced.

The Steel Across America open exhibition will feature a beam recovered from the World Trade Center's South Tower. Visitors will be able to view the 9/11 steel up close, connect with individuals who lived through the events, engage in educational experiences and more.

USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park was highlighted in the Foundation's statement, along with Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Space Center Houston, Flight 93 National Memorial and others. 

The mobile tour will begin its journey on May 2, 2026, in Lower Manhattan, visiting national monuments, museums and memorials during the more than 10,500-mile trip. Dates for the remaining stops will be announced later.
