While you’re in town for Son of a Sailor Festival in September or simply taking a vacation in the Port City, check out these delicious margaritas, frozen drinks and cheeseburgers that would have made Jimmy Buffett, the OG Parrothead, himself happy.
Burgers
Dew Drop Inn
It’s only right to start this list off with the Dew Drop Inn. This restaurant is a renowned icon for two reasons: it’s Mobile’s oldest restaurant and its chili cheeseburgers inspired the hit song, “Cheeseburger in Paradise.”
Callaghan’s Irish Social Club
1946 was an iconic year. Jimmy Buffett was born and Callaghan’s Irish Social Club was established. You can find some of the most delicious burgers in town in the Oakleigh Garden District.
The Living Room at the Admiral Hotel
Jimmy Buffett and The Admiral Hotel have a lot of history together. The singer-songwriter performed at the Admiral Hotel’s lounge throughout the early 1970s before he made it big. The Living Room, the Admiral Hotel’s cocktail bar and lounge, serves “The ‘Jimmy B’” and other juicy burgers.
Frank n Lola’s
Talk about a meal on wheels! Seeing the Frank n Lola’s food truck parked at different areas and events throughout the city never fails to make our mouth water. In case you were wondering, Frank n Lola’s has been Mobtown Burger Week’s Burger of the Year two years in a row. Talk about a fan favorite!
Greer’s St. Louis Market
On top of the undefeated wine selection and delicious hot and salad bars, Greer’s St. Louis Market’s juicy and mouthwatering made-to-order burgers are a 10/10.
Pro tip: After you grab your burger, sit on the rooftop to enjoy sweeping views of the city and skyline while you eat.
Margaritas & Frozen Drinks
La Delicia
La Delicia, one of downtown Mobile’s newest restaurants, offers a delicious menu filled with brunch classics and traditional Mexican fare. In addition to its phenomenal cuisine, the drink menu is top-notch. Choose from 20 margaritas and mixed drinks for the ultimate La Delicia experience.
Wet Willies
The hardest choice you should have to make in Mobile is which flavor of daiquiri you want from Wet Willies. Whether you prefer sweet and fruity drinks or tangy and tart concoctions, Wet Willies is the perfect place for you to sip the night away.
Las Floriditas
Your Mobile experience isn’t complete without a visit to Las Floriditas. Inspired by El Floridita, author Ernest Hemingway’s favorite bar in Havana, Cuba, this speakeasy-style bar and restaurant is a cherished local staple in the Port City.
Pro tip: Check Las Floriditas’ Facebook at noon for the daily entrance password. You can’t get in without it!
